Sector Coupling for Thailand's Just Energy Transition and Net Zero Target by 2050
As Thailand has opted to accelerate its carbon neutrality and net zero targets by 2035 and 2050 respectively. The work towards achieving these targets require collaborative solutions across various sectors.
Through deploying the cross-sectoral 'Sector Coupling' approach, the project aims to:
-support the transition in the key hard-to-abate sectors with technology and knowledge transfer;
- develop policy, regulatory and business models with a clear focus on sector coupling to tackle cross-sector issues hampering the energy transition;
- set up city labs offering technical, regulatory and business support to local urban actors and integrating a scaling-up plan; and
- provide significant support in the field of climate finance, for example in the form of seed funding local projects, as well as measures to increase the capabilities of both fund managers and potential recipients.

ประเทศไทยได้ประกาศเร่งความพยายามในการสัมฤทธิ์เป้าหมายความเป็นกลางทางคาร์บอนและ Net Zero ภายในปีพ.ศ. 2578 และ 2593 ตามลำดับ การผลักดันเพื่อบรรลุเป้าหมายเหล่านี้ต้องอาศัยแนวทางความร่วมมือข้ามหลายภาคส่วน
ภายใต้แนวคิดความร่วมมือข้ามภาคส่วน 'Sector Coupling' โครงการ TGC EMC,เป้าหมายดังต่อไปนี้
- สนับสนุนการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงานในภาค ผ่านการถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีและความรู้
- พัฒนาแม่แบบธุรกิจ ข้อบังคับ และนโยบายที่มุ่งเน้นเรื่องความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคส่วนอย่างชัดเจนเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาระหว่างภาคส่วนที่เป็นอุปสรรคต่อการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงาน
- จัดตั้งโครงการนำร่อง (city lab) ให้ความช่วยเหลือทางเทคนิค กฎหมายข้อบังคับ และธุรกิจแก่ผู้มีส่วนได้เสียในพื้นที่ และบูรณาการแผนการยกระดับการดำเนินงาน
- ให้การสนับสนุนด้านการเงินเพื่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศในรูปแบบเงินลงทุนแรกเริ่ม (seed funding) เป็นต้น และการสนับสนุนด้านมาตรการพัฒนาศักยภาพของผู้จัดการกองทุนและผู้ที่มีโอกาสได้รับทุน
