THAI - GERMAN COOPERATION

ON ENERGY, MOBILITY AND CLIMATE

Components

TGC EMC deploys a cross-sectoral approach to advance collaboration and solutions in key areas to support Thailand’s energy transition and climate goals. Under the programme's 5 components: Renewable Energy, Transport, Decarbonisation in Industry, Biomass and Climate Finance (ThaiCI Fund), TGC EMC works with each key sector's strategic partners to sector-specific solutions while contributing to the cross-cutting pathways towards energy transition and decarbonisation in Thailand.

Renewable Energy

Facilitate the energy transition, supporting the transition of energy system to become more flexible and enable integration of complex demands from cross-sectoral demand, as well as reaching ambitious GHG mitigation target.

Transport

Framework conditions (policy, regulation, incentive schemes, know how, awareness, technology & innovation) for EV investment, electrifying public transport fleets, and sharing business models are improved

Decarbonisation in Industry

Energy efficiency contributes clearly to strategies for energy security (through demand side management) and mitigation (by defining and promoting EE measures in key industries through enhanced technical and policy framework.

Biomass

The biomass to energy components contributes to better air quality management and improving incomes of small-scale farmers

Climate Finance

A new climate financing scheme is set up to implement NDC, NAP, and Climate Change Master Plan at sub-national level while capacities are strengthened to develop and finance climate project and to raise additional domestic and international resources towards climate actions
